Audiobook Downloads:

The library has access to OneClickDigital for audiobooks.  Download the OneClickDigital app to your Android or iOS device, or access the audiobooks from the OneClickDigital webpage.  You’ll need to create an account on the OneClickDigital webpage before using apps on your mobile device.

Board Games:

The library offers several board games for all ages for check out.  Board games are located near the copy machine to the right of the service desk.

Community Service:

The library offers a Community Service program for teens required to perform community service with the Juvenile Justice Department or for families wanting teens to perform community service.  Contact Penny at the library for more information.

Copies, Printing, Scanning, and Faxing:

The library has a public copy machine, a color printer, and a fax machine.  Black and white copies/prints are 10 cents a page, color prints are 50 cents a page, and faxes are a dollar a page.

eBooks:

The library offers ebooks through 3M.  Download the app onto your iOS or Android device, choose LCEI under “Idaho” and input your barcode and PIN number.  Ask the service desk staff for more help.

Gaming:

The library has video gaming every Friday night from 7 pm to 9pm and board gaming on Saturdays from 2 pm to 5pm.  Contact Josh at the library for more information.

Lab at the Library:

Lab at the library is primarily for grades Kindergarten through 12th Grade but everyone is welcome! Every other Friday beginning Friday, December 20th, 2013 at the Portneuf District Library we will have a guest presenter who will teach and demonstrate one aspect of science, technology, or electronics.  If you have questions please call Holly or Amanda at 208-237-2192.

Movies & TV DVDs:

The library has thousands of movies and TV series on DVD.  The DVDs are organized in binders in the alcove to the right of the services desk.  Portneuf Library residents may also use the Hoopla service to stream and download movies and TV shows to their tablet or smart phones or computers.  Contact the library for more information on Hoopla.

Music CDs:

The library has many music CDs available for check out.  The titles are in the same place as the DVDs.  Portneuf Library residents may also use the Hoopla service to stream and download music albums to their tablet or smart phones or computers.  Contact the library for more information on Hoopla.

Notary Services:

The library has a notary on staff available Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM.  Please contact the library to arrange a time to ensure the Notary is available.

Online Databases:

The library has many online databases with articles for research, homework, assignments, and/or recreational reading.  See all the online databases on the “Databases” page.

Online Magazines:

Zinio – Online Magazines

 Zinio offers online magazines you check out,
download, and read on your laptop, computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Download magazines for reading on the go!  Once you download a
magazine to your smartphone or tablet, you won’t need internet access
to read them.  The Portneuf Library currently subscribes to titles
like Taste of Home, All Recipes, Newsweek, Seventeen, OK!, Redbook,
Shape, and Marie Claire.

Proctoring:

The Portneuf Library offers free exam proctoring to students taking online courses with schools out of the area.  Call Josh for more information.

Storytimes:

The library offers many different kinds of storytimes for the young.  Contact Amanda for more information.

Video Games:

The library checks out video games for the xBox, Wii, Playstation, and Nintendo DS.  Titles are in the same location as the DVDs.

WiFi:

The library offers free WiFi in and around the building.

Word Processing and Presentation Software:

The library offers the full Microsoft Office suite with Word, Excel, and Power Point on its public computers.
